Sumter, South Carolina is centrally located in the middle of South Carolina with the beautiful beaches in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other. It is home to Shaw Air Force Base- a growing Industrial base, the world famous Swan Lake Iris Gardens and a city population of 42,700. The city of Sumter is in the heart of the community with a total city and county population of 108,000. It has a home town feel with the conveniences of a large city.

 

AIR TRAVEL

Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) is located 52 miles west of Sumter, SC. Five major airlines serve this airport (American Eagle, Continental Express, Delta, United & US Airways) providing daily flights from Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, New York-LaGuardia, Chicago O’Hare, Washington – Dulles, Charlotte, Philadelphia and Washington-National. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is located 120 miles Northwest of Sumter, SC. It is currently US Airways’ biggest hub. Numerous airlines serve this airport with the most notable being: AirTran, American Eagle, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta, Jet Blue, United Airways, United Express and US Airways. There are also a variety of rental car options at the airport. Such options include: Alamo, Thrift, Dollar, National and Enterprise to name a few.
